The first itinerant wine-and-music festival

14ème édition

When music meets wine, Provence comes alive.

When music meets wine, Provence comes alive.

The sun slowly sets over the vineyards of Provence.
The mistral carries hints of cardamom and wild herbs.
The air is warm, and the cicadas are singing. It is already beautiful.
But add a little music, and suddenly it becomes truly magnificent.

The vineyards of Provence and music now feel like an obvious pairing,
but fourteen years ago, it had to be imagined:
imagining culture blending with nature,
audiences encountering authenticity,
repertoires intertwining with the land itself.

For fourteen years, we have been creating unexpected encounters.
Between a five-star château and an opera singer.
Between a family-owned estate and a gypsy jazz quintet.
Between century-old vines and Brazilian rhythms.

Fifty venues, a hundred concerts, forty groups of artists:
just as many opportunities to discover what we never expected to find.

“For the span of a melody, time stood still — a moment of wonder and shared pleasure.”

La Provence, Zoom sur Les Musicales dans les Vignes, sept. 2023

Encounters also happen between those who come for the wine and discover the music.
Those who come for the music and discover the land.
And all those who gather in our pink deck chairs, a glass in hand, between food trucks and vineyards, to share something simple. And beautiful.

Each summer, opera meets rosé.
Gypsy jazz crosses paths with Provençal or Thai cuisine.
Music lovers mingle with winemakers.
Artists are just as amazed as first-time listeners to perform in settings that are still rarely — or never — open to the general public.

Each evening is an invitation to encounter:
with a place, with artists, with people, with oneself, perhaps.
Because deep down, we know that it is from this joyful blend that beautiful stories are born.

The Story Behind the Festival

Founded in 2013 by Marie-Jeanne Chauvin, a passionate lover of music and wine, the festival was born in the Var with three concerts.

Buoyed by the success of those evenings, the festival has grown year after year and now spans the whole of Provence: Les Baux-de-Provence, the South Luberon, the Aix region, Montagne Sainte-Victoire, Dracénie, the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, Bandol, Fréjus, the Heart of the Var, and Nice.
